Haunting Music Playlist

Songs That Set A Spooky Mood

It’s taken me years to curate the perfect haunting music playlist to play while I create spooky content for myself and this blog. It would be easy to call up a more Halloween-themed playlist like my Novelty List but my goal in creating this list for myself was to set a mood with music that is not necessarily meant to be scary.

My master haunting music playlist – which I simply call “Haunting” is nearly 2 and a half hours long. You can head to Apple Music for my complete list here.

Today I will be presenting you with some highlights from the master list that you can incorporate into your next Halloween party playlist or just listen to on a dark and spooky night.

Have I missed any good ones? Please let me know in the comments! I’m always on the look-out for new spooky music!

Head to my Terrifying Tunes page for more playlists!

Keep The Streets Empty For Me – Fever Ray

I’m laying down, eating snow
My fur is hot, my tongue is cold
On a bed of spider web
I think of how to change myself

Eyes on Fire – Blue Foundation

I won’t soothe your pain
I won’t ease your strain
You’ll be waiting in vain
I got nothing for you to gain

Riverside – Anges Obel

I walk to the borders on my own
Fall in the water just like a stone
Chilled to the marrow in them bones
Why do I go here alone

The Devil Within – Digital Daggers

I will be here
When you think you’re all alone
Seeping through the cracks
I’m the poison in your bones
My love is your disease
I won’t let it set you free
Til I break you

This Night – Black Lab

So take this night
Wrap it around me like a sheet
I know I’m not forgiven
But I need a place to sleep
So take this night
And lay me down on the street
I know I’m not forgiven
But I hope that I’ll be given
Some peace

How To Disappear Completely – Radiohead

I walk through walls
I float down the Liffey
I’m not here
This isn’t happening
I’m not here
I’m not here

About Her – Malcolm McLaren

My man’s got a heart like a rock cast in the sea

Uninvited – Alanis Morroset

Like any uncharted territory
I must seem greatly intriguing
You speak of my love like
You have experienced love like mine before

Kings and Queens and Vagabonds – Ellem

We lay down in the riverbed
Rest in the silhouettes our fathers and mothers laid before
Restless souls in the desert sand
Dream of another land that heroes and villians claimed before

Breathe – Fleurie

I feel the pages turning
I see the candle burning down
Before my eyes, before my wild eyes
I feel you holding me
Tighter, I cannot see
When will we finally breathe?

Everybody Wants to Rule The World – Lorde

There’s a room where the light won’t find you
Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
When they do I’ll be right behind you

Sally’s Song – Fiona Apple

I sense there’s something in the wind
That seems like tragedy’s at hand
And though I’d like to stand by him
Can’t shake this feeling that I have
